Petrovend
Prototyping, design and implementation of a major application for unmanned petrol stations. The system controls and manages card operated automated vending of fuel on a petrol station forecourt, and interfaces between fuel pump controllers and card readers, and provides full back-office EPOS functionality. Dual hot-swappable machines provide excellent resilience and integrity for critical financial data. In the event of a critical error, engineers can be automatically warned by SMS messaging.

Compact low cost system to monitor the temperature status of up to seven chilled or frozen food cabinets and satisfy legal requirement for hard copy record. A standalone firmware solution was developed based on an Intel 8051 with on-chip ADC and involved A-D algorithms to determine temperature difference from input and output sensors, a driver for a paper roll printer and raising amber through green alerts when readings fall outside beyond pre-defined limits.
