Windows Embedded Standard Quickstart

Course Introduction: This course is designed to provide attendees with a practical overview of the operations required to produce Windows Embedded Standard solutions.

Who is it for? This course is suitable for Project Managers, system integrators and embedded systems developers who are not familiar with the Windows Embedded Standard operating system and or the Windows Embedded Studio software package.

Course Content: Attendees will cover the following;

Overview of the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard operating system
Use Target Designer and Target Analyser
Building embedded components using Component Designer
Managing embedded components using the Component Database Manager
Building and deploying an embedded operating system image for different platforms
Shell and Boot customisation
Use of the Write Filters
How different types of boot media can effect embedded operating system configuration

Prerequisites: This course requires that the attendees have some general knowledge in the following;

The use and configuration of the Windows XP Professional operating system
The use and configuration of computer hardware
Embedded systems and their uses

Duration: This is a 1 day workshop

What you will need to do this course:

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 (Evaluation Toolkit)
Adobe Acrobat Viewer
Windows XP Professional SP3 or Windows Vista
Minimum Pentium 4 2GHz CPU (the faster the better)
Minimum 1GB RAM
Minimum 20GB Hard Disk Space free (for Tools Installation)
Network Adapter
Site Facilities: Projector (native resolution of 1024x768 or better), Whiteboard, Internet Access for Instructor and Student PCs.
