Windows Embedded Standard Advanced

Course Introduction: This seminar is designed to provide the attendee with practical experience covering some of the more complex operations that are required to produce Windows Embedded Standard (WES) 2009 solutions using the Microsoft Windows Embedded Studio software.

Who is it for? This seminar is suitable for system integrators and embedded system developers who already have a basic familiarity with the windows Embedded Studio software package.

Course Content: Attendees will cover the following;

• Project Management
• Using advance target hardware analysis to help solve boot problems
• Creating complex components to solve operating system design requirements
• Creating components to solve run-time issues
• Managing the WES 2009 database
• The building, deployment and cloning of WES 2009 operating systems on different platforms
• Using the 'Write Filter' components
• Updating run-time images using the 'Device Update Agent' component
• Booting WES 2009 operating systems from the USB devices or over a network
• Licensing WES 2009 operating systems

Prerequisites: This course requires that attendees have either previously attended the MPC Data Windows Embedded Standard Quickstart workshop, or have previous experience of building simple WES 2009 operating systems.  Attendees should also have knowledge of the following;

• The use and configuration of Windows XP Professional operating systems
• The use and configuration of computer hardware
• Embedded systems and their uses

Duration: This is a 2 day seminar

What you will need to do this course:

• Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 (Evaluation Toolkit)
• Adobe Acrobat Viewer
• Windows XP Professional SP3 or Windows Vista
• Minimum Pentium 4 2GHz CPU (the faster the better)
• Minimum 1GB RAM
• Minimum 20GB Hard Disk Space free (for Tools Installation)
• Network Adapter
• Site Facilities: Projector (native resolution of 1024x768 or better), Whiteboard, Internet Access for Instructor and Student PCs.
