Windows Embedded Compact 7 BSP Roadmap Announced for the TI OMAP3530 Beagleboard 06/07/2010

With the latest V1.1 release of the Windows CE 6.0R3 BSP for the Beagleboard, MPC Data includes additional tools, documentation and configurable support for both 128MB and 256MB hardware revisions. MPC Data have also announced roadmap support for Windows Embedded Compact 7 on the same platform with the offer of a free upgrade to the Compact 7 BSP for existing customers when released.

The processing power offered by the OMAP3 processor on the Beagleboard, with its 600/720MHz ARM Cortex A8 core and on-chip PowerVR 2D graphics accelerator, coupled with the new Compact 7 BSP ensures that graphics-intensive Silverlight 3.0 applications run efficiently and with minimal impact on CPU utilisation.

The current BSP development is based on Windows Embedded Compact 7 CTP as part of our participation, as leading Microsoft Gold Level partners, in the early adopter program for Windows Embedded technologies.

MPC Data are timing the production release of this BSP to coincide with the official release of Compact 7 by Microsoft.

TI OMAP-L138/AM1808 Hawkboard Gets Windows Embedded CE6.0 R3 BSP 09/06/2010

The community focused Hawkboard, based on the ARM9 OMAP-L138/AM1808 processor from TI, now features Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 support. The new low-cost BSP from MPC Data now enables developers to build Windows Embedded CE products based on the Hawkboard open hardware platform.

APPA Mundi previews McObjects Perst as a database for Windows Phone 7 using Silverlight 07/06/2010

UK Based MVP from APPA Mundi previews the Perst embedded database software from McObject running under the new Windows Phone 7 using Silverlight.
